About Mike Chan
My name is Mike Chan and I have a large head, which you can see on the left. This blog is your trip into this oversized noggin of mine.
Career-wise, I’m an entrepreneur involved in building technology startups and running my own consulting firm. I’m also Co-Organizer of Startup Weekend DC and an Adjunct Professor of Georgetown University’s Sports Industry Management Program. In 2012 I founded then killed a smart calendar startup called Dokkit. Before that, I was the Senior Director of Strategic Marketing for the Washington Capitals / Monumental Sports and Entertainment, which was pretty awesome.
I’m an avid fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants, Washington Capitals, and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. I love sports, marketing, and good food and drink. I am an alumnus of Lehigh University, Georgia Tech, and the NYU Stern School of Business. I was born in Queens, also grew up in Brooklyn and Old Bridge, NJ, lived in Atlanta, San Francisco, and Manhattan, but now reside in Washington, D.C.
